diagonal matrix Math.
A square (m x m) matrix with zero elements everywhere except the diagonal elements. For example, if A is a (4 x 4) diagonal matrix, then

dibasic acid Chem.
An acid that has two hydrogen atoms that are readily ionized to give the acidic character. For example, sulfuric acid (H2SO4) is an example of dibasic and ionizes in water to give 2H+ and SO42-.

DIMM Comp.
Abbreviation for Double Inline Memory Module. It is a modular circuit board with memory chips soldered on it. It is similar to SIMM, except that DIMM has memory chips mounted on both sides of the module, giving a total of 168 pins or connectors. DIMMs have a 64-bit data path and used in Pentium and newer PC, replacing the older SIMMs. DIMM modules can be installed individually, usually click into the memory socket in the PC.
