exoplanet Astron., Space
A planet in orbit around a star other than the Sun. Also called extrasolar planet. Until the year 2005, there are more than 150 exoplanets have been discovered. Most of these
are indirectly observed by measuring the tiny fluctuation of the brightness of the host star as the planet passed behind or in front of it.
exothermic Chem.
A chemical reaction that gives out heat into its surrounding. Most chemical reaction occur in this way, leading to the increase in temperature to its surrounding.
