nascent hydrogen Chem.
A reactive form of hydrogen produced in situ in the reaction mixture. Nascent (newly born) hydrogen can reduce compounds that do not readily react with normal hydrogen gas.
The reactive capability of nascent hydrogen is not clear. It is widely thought that it may be in the form of short-live atomic hydrogen. It may also be in the form unstable hydride
compound. It may also be possible that normal hydrogen molecules (H2) are indeed form but in excited states that react before they reduce to the ground state as they are released from
the reaction mixture. Nascent hydrogen is usually produced by reaction of metals with acids, for example, zinc and sulfuric acid.
natron Min.

A mineral form of the hydrated sodium carbonate, Na2CO3.H2O. It is an opaque white mass and can be easily crushed (hardness = 1). It readily adsorb moisture and is therefore usually found
in evaporative, arid area. Natron is used for mummifications in ancient Egypt.
